GREAT NEWS! Air America Filing Bankruptcy, Going Off The Air....

The only time I would ever agree with Michael Moore...

WaPo  Air America, the talk-radio network that helped boost the careers of liberals Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, said Thursday it was going out of business.

In a statement to employees of the New York-based network, Air America's chairman, Charlie Kireker, wrote: "It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.

"The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America's business. This past year has seen a 'perfect storm' in the media industry generally. . . . In this climate, our painstaking search for new investors has come close several times right up into this week, but ultimately fell short of success."
Rush signs a new deal to make millions, Sean Hannity gets 6 million plus viewers in the last ratings period.  Glenn Beck has 5 best-selling books, a program on Fox, and a successful radio show.

Sounds like a horrible economy to me too.  Maybe they couldn't find some investors because they didn't have someone on the network that people wanted to listen to.  No company buys advertising on stations that have listeners who grow their own weed and work at non-profit think tanks.

Investors typically like to see something called a "return" on their investment.  Kinda a capitalist thing ya' know.

My final thought on this is, Bye fuckers....

I wonder how they are going to get the Fairness Doctrine passed now since they can't keep Air America in business. Will they make us listen to liberal radio, if they can resurrect it, at gun point?
