Speaker Pelosi Sez: Republican Attacks Against Her are a “Compliment”…

Well, here is another compliment...

Politico--House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Monday evening that she considers Republican attacks on her a “compliment” — evidence that she’s done her job well.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) told a friendly audience at a banquet at Fortune magazine’s “Most Powerful Women Summit” that special interest groups who stand to lose from measures like health care reform, Wall Street reform and college loan legislation want to get rid of those laws.

“No one’s talking about you, you have to wonder what you were doing,” she said. “I view that as a highest compliment, that they want to take us down,” she said at the event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington.

“It isn’t about me. And if they want to make it about me then they have to have something else to offer,” she said in response to questions from writer Nora Ephron, who conducted a ranging half-hour interview.

She said she doesn’t pay attention to the attacks because she chose to go into a field that isn’t for the faint of heart.

“This requires donning suit of armor, a suit of armor. You will be characterized in a way that none of your friends neighbors and maybe even family won’t recognize,” she said. “This is a very tough arena. If you throw a punch you have to be willing to take a punch.”

I can't wait until she is screaming from the back of the chamber trying to be recognized....
